Fly to Jiuzhai Valley — Huanglong's Golden Pools

Short flight to Jiuzhaigou-Huanglong Airport, then straight to Huanglong National Park: thousands of golden travertine terraces stepping down the mountain like a dragon's scales. Cable car up, easy boardwalk down. Overnight near Jiuzhaigou's entrance.

Full Day in Jiuzhaigou National Park

The main event. Five-Flower Lake, Mirror Lake, Nuorilang Falls and dozens of pools in shades of turquoise that shouldn't exist in nature. Park shuttles cover the distances; boardwalks take you to the edges. Your guide times each stop to dodge the crowds.

Tibetan Villages & Return to Chengdu
